Unfamiliar Things

I used to play the guitar.

Not well; it was more like fooling around with a guitar in my hands, but I enjoyed it.  One of my characters in Upgrade, Sadie Freeman, plays a guitar.  It’s kind of interesting writing a piece for her; music is so much a part of her that it’s really a subset of her DNA.

What do musicians feel about their craft?

Hell if I know, but I’ll give it a shot.  I finished a piece of writing on Sadie today, the bit I started yesterday; it’s a nice introduction for her (…if I do say so myself), but I hope I haven’t overplayed (hah) the guitar elements.

We’ll see.  That’s what robust feedback is for.

Anyway, word targets are doing well!  Same kind of writing time today – about 45 minutes, maybe an hour, it’s hard to tell (I had a meeting prior, where there was jousting).  Word goal: 500.  Word achievement: 1,000.
