Unbridled Rage

Some things are sent to test us.

Abject Sorrow by Richard Parry

Perhaps C&C said it best, but today has not been a brilliant day.  I’ve been trying to get my machine back up and running so I can actually write.  As I type this, the picture shown is what my machine’s doing (the perceptive amongst you will notice this is not at all like running Scrivener, and quite a far distance from being a useful tool for writing).  It’s probably worth noting that – curiously – the very same people who work at Microsoft estimating minutes must have moved to Apple, because after three hours it’s still got 1 hour to go.  No, wait, it’s 1 hour 15 minutes.  No, wait.  1 hour 5.

Aw.

On the flip side, I’ve managed to catch up on a bit of surfing the Internet.  Here’s a bit shout out to Lennon and Maisy Stella.  Yeah, that’s right.  Today’s been that productive.

All going well, I’ll be back in the saddle tomorrow.  If not, I’ll probably be down to JB HiFi faster than a rat up a drain pipe, because daddy needs a working machine, no question.  And daddy’s tolerance for spending hours of his life rebuilding equipment is very low.

Out of interest: has anyone noticed that OS X has just become a bit more shit recently?  I’ve had to rebuild my own Mac, which is about six months old now, and my girlfriend’s Mac as well, about four months old.  The reason I use these things is the Just Works™ factor, and there’s not a lot of Just Works™ being felt around here.

There are a lot of colourful metaphors being used though.
